Description of the Activity

The two-day training session on the Reciprocal Maieutic Approach (RMA) provides an immersive learning experience focused on enhancing communication, empathy, and reflective questioning within educational and social work contexts. Through interactive activities, real-world case studies, and expert insights, participants learn to apply RMA principles to foster social and cognitive empowerment. The training includes hands-on workshops, reflective sessions, and action planning, culminating in the awarding of participation certificates and personal reflections on applying RMA techniques in professional settings.

What do participants have to do after participating in this training?

After participating in this training, participants need to organize a series of workshops with 180 youth, run by the 18 trained youth workers using the RMA method. Additionally, they must conduct a series of self-analysis workshops with different members of the four concerned target groups (youngsters, workers, organizations, policymakers) conducted by trained project staff acting as multipliers. This will result in in-depth needs and context analysis and potential unique solutions to improve youth engagement in the public sphere. The outcomes of the RMA process will be further supported by developing the RMA methodological manual for youth workers and organizations to use in their future activities and initiatives with young people in the local community. Moreover, the RMA framework will be used to develop bespoke educational materials through a co-design approach involving all partners, including youngsters, youth workers, and policymakers. This approach will provide youth workers and youth organizations with high-quality and participatory educational resources for youth civic participation and quality youth work.
